Can I Really Pay by Barter?
Yes! We believe that you can and should be able to enjoy new and exciting things without being a cog in a consumerist society. We feel the barter model encourages a community spirit, a sense of self-awareness and of responsibility.
We very much admire the ideas of Freeconomy and Self Sufficiency but we (a) don’t possess all of the skills to make that work for us, and (b) really like to join in with everyday life from time to time and be able to treat friends and family without feeling we must always keep a tight hold of the purse strings. We think bartering can give us the best of both worlds.
We’d love to see more ethical businesses using the barter model and bringing it back into fashion. So support us and choose barter at the checkout!
How Does it Work?
Essentially barter works similarly to any other payment method. Here's how:
- 1. Take a look at our list of currently required items and services to see if you think you can offer something
- 2. Select “Barter” as your payment option at the checkout
- 3. Email us with your exchange offer.
Once we’ve agreed a swap, we’ll post out your order as soon as we’ve received your exchange items. Easy! If you end up wanting to return something to us, we’ll offer you an exchange item in the first instance, or if that’s not suitable, we’ll issue a credit note which you are free to either use yourself or barter it with a friend for something else!
